Holiday Inn Auckland Airport, an IHG Hotel

The staff were extremely helpful, particularly Marita and the gentleman at the front desk. They organised trolleys for the luggage to and from the room and helped us to find a hire car. Everyone was very friendly, polite and helpful. The room was clean and quiet, with comfortable beds and air conditioning should you require it. Hairdryer provided and a large screen television. Room service was prompt and the pizza for two tired travellers was perfect!

Breakfast selection was one of the best I have seen for a long time. The staff were so helpful and accommodating for us, especially when it was our first few days in New Zealand.

Everything was great apart from the dislike stuff below.

The customer service was fantastic, we arrived early and the staff did everything they could to get us checked in; specifically on the ground floor because of our luggage and the fact that we were traveling with kids. We loved that there was a restaurant on property because we didn’t have a vehicle, so being able to order room service and have a buffet breakfast was amazing and it was delicious! The room was clean and comfortable, not so cold inside that we needed the heaters.

1st day 7am. Breakfast was fully stocked, we were the only people there. 2 x eggs benes took 18 minutes to be delivered. Beung an executive chef, i know it doesnt take that long, i was curious why the chef kept going out thr back but coming back empty handed. Obviously the cooking kitchen is out the back but it was very distracting seeing her going backward and forth at least 8 times before our brekky came. 2nd day 10am we had breakfast, hotline, no mush, tomatoes, pancakes . When I asked chef for more mushrooms etc she said under her breath but we are closing soon. I looked her in the eye and said, yes soon. Not now. I'm a family of 4 and 6 walked in after me, get more on. Why is she cooking (actually burning) streaky bacon in a frying pan when her flat top wasn't on or being used, her used Bain Marie's pans were sitting on the flat top instead. Squeezing a packet of bacon into a frying pan is silly, it doesn't cook evenly and she actually had it on high so it burnt on one side. It's also a shame you don't make your hollandaise but I understand with the skill set available, cost of eggs and butter but we make a 3 x block hollandaise on quiet days and it lasts for 6 hours easy 3 x eggs bene took 20 minutes again, quite long as there were no orders infront of our table. Overall thses are chef criticisms, food was fine, freshness good, overall it was fine but always can be better
